PALMDALE, CA (October 17, 2023) - Wednesday night, a DUI collision on Palmdale Boulevard left one person dead and another arrested.
The deadly collision happened around 9:04 p.m. on Palmdale Blvd. near 80th Street East.
According to the police, an earthbound vehicle veered into oncoming for unknown reasons and collided with a westbound vehicle.
The passenger inside the westbound vehicle succumbed to their injuries after being transported to a hospital.
Meanwhile, police arrested the driver of the first vehicle for DUI. Authorities reported no other injuries from the incident.
At this time, the identity of the deceased victim remains undisclosed to the public, pending notification from their next of kin.
Officials shut down Paldale Boulevard between 70th Street East and 80th Street East as crews investigate the scene. Those with additional information about the fatal DUI crash are urged to contact Detective Cynthia Knutson at 661-272-2596.
