3 Dead, 2 Airlifted after Speeding Collision on Interstate 10 [Maricopa County, AZ]

Three Pronounced Dead after Speeding Accident near Milepost 76

MARICOPA COUNTY, AZ (December 20, 2023) - Three victims died early Sunday in a speeding crash on Interstate 10 near Mile Post 76.

The incident took place around 4:30 a.m. on December 17th, on the eastbound lanes of the freeway. According to reports, a Toyota Highlander, traveling at a high speed, collided with two individuals who were standing outside a disabled truck while heading east.

Emergency medical personnel declared the driver and passenger inside the truck dead at the scene.

Simultaneously, paramedics airlifted three others to a nearby hospital for additional medical attention. Due to the severity of their injuries, one of the airlifted victims was later pronounced dead by the responding crews.

The identities of those involved have not been disclosed by authorities. Currently, an active investigation is underway to gather more information about the incident. Once the investigation yields results, additional details regarding the high-speed collision on Interstate 10 will be made public.
