Even the most Type A person can get overwhelmed at the DMV. Whether you're there to renew your license or get a new one, the process can be daunting. But there are some things you can do to make your trip a little less stressful. Here are five tips to make your trip to the DMV less stressful:

1. Get there early

This one might seem obvious, but it's worth repeating. The earlier you get to the DMV, the shorter the line will be. And we all know that shorter lines mean less stress. So do yourself a favor and set your alarm a little earlier so you can beat the rush.

2. Bring all the required documents

Nothing is worse than getting all the way to the front of the line only to realize you don't have everything you need. To save yourself a headache, double check what documents you need before you even step foot in the building. That way, you can be sure you have everything you need before it's too late.

3. Dress comfortably

You're going to be sitting in a chair for a while, so you might as well be comfortable, right? Avoiding constrictive clothing or shoes that pinch will help make your time at the DMV a little more bearable.

4. Bring snacks and drinks

We all get Hangry sometimes, and there's nothing worse than being Hangry when you're stuck at the DMV. To avoid this issue altogether, bring along some snacks and drinks so you can munch on something if you start feeling hungry. Trust us, your stomach will thank you later.
