Since the late 1940s, filmmakers have been transforming the magnificent Greystone Mansion into cinematic settings such as hospitals, funeral homes, government offices, hotel rooms, military schools and more, not to mention palatial estates. Filming at Greystone really took off in the mid-1960s after the city of Beverly Hills purchased the property, but then dwindled in the '70s when the mansion became home to the American Film Institute. Since the early '80s, though, when AFI's lease expired, Greystone has been home to an average of two films per year. From Dead Ringer to The Big Lebowski, from The Disorderly Orderly to There Will Be Blood, here's a look at the Greystone Mansion through many of the 70-plus films that have called it home.
