Taking care of those who take care of us and keeping the kids fed for free, here's what's popping up this week.
Tuesday, March 31
Zach Pollack is opening Alimento for a one-night staff fundraiser with a special takeout menu featuring some of the restaurant's classic dishes, all priced for $12 plus retail wine available from 4-7 p.m. One hundred percent of all food sales will go to the restaurant's GoFundMe page: gofundme.com/f/alimento-cosa-buona-staff-would-love-your-help. Menu items include the crostone, tortellini, chopped salad and the signature chicken Milanese sandwich. Orders can be place by calling in: (323) 928-2888.

The Habit Burger Grill is serving healthcare professionals during this challenging time. ?The Habit Burger Grill has deployed its fleet of food trucks to host 27 events near hospitals throughout California to give back to health care professionals by providing over 8,000 complimentary meals. In order to maintain social distancing, they are having a few representatives pick up meals from the truck every 15 minutes in lieu of accumulating a line of guests.

The Venice Way Pizza takeout window at the Hotel Erwin is open for takeaway from 11 a.m.-5 p.m.: cheese and veggie ($4), pepperoni and the daily special ($4.50), and the house salad for $5. Pan pizzas are starting at $22 and include nine slabs. Cut from 15x15 inch custom-made pans, the pizza style blends a variety of pan pizza traditions, including Detroit-style pizza with its uber-crunchy bottom crust, Roman pizza al taglio with its light and airy crumb, and Sicilian focaccia.
