3 Pronounced Dead after Wrong-Way Collision near Island Crest Way

MERCER ISLAND, WA (November 7, 2023) - A fatal accident claimed the lives of Ari Jimenez, Austin Tsai, and Bugeon Jim early Monday morning, in a head-on collision.

Police received calls shortly after midnight, on the eastbound lanes of the freeway near Island Crest Way on October 30th.

According to reports, Ari Jimenez, a 30-year-old, was driving westward at a high speed in the eastbound HOV lane, leading to a collision with an oncoming Subaru, in which 22-year-old Tsai and 23-year-old Jim were occupants.

Medical personnel later declared all three individuals deceased at the accident scene. To facilitate the cleanup and preliminary investigations, authorities temporarily closed all eastbound lanes, eventually reopening them around 5:30 a.m.
