Arif Mohammed Fatally Struck in Hit-and-Run Collision on Highway 13 [Oakland, CA]

18-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Hit-and-Run Accident near Lincoln Avenue

OAKLAND, CA (November 21, 2023) - Arif Mohammed lost his life Sunday night in a hit-and-run incident on Highway 13. Authorities arrived at the scene just before 11:00 p.m., located just south of Lincoln Avenue.

According to reports, a Zipcar, occupied by its driver and a passenger, was struck by a black Toyota Corolla.

Following the collision, both individuals from the Zipcar stepped out and moved to the roadside. While standing on the road's shoulder, the Zipcar passenger was struck by the driver of a second black sedan.

The driver of the sedan immediately fled without providing assistance or contacting the police. The extent of the injuries proved fatal, and medical professionals later declared the victim, identified as 18-year-old Mohammed from New York City by the Alameda County Coroner, deceased.

Meanwhile, the Zipcar driver escaped without injuries. Police are actively searching for the elusive driver responsible for the hit-and-run.

Investigators highlighted that the sedan involved in the collision exhibited either front bumper or front windshield damage. Anyone possessing additional information about the hit-and-run on Lincoln Avenue is urged to contact the Oakland CHP at 510-457-2875.
