Bernardo Fajardo Killed in Rear-End Big-Rig Crash on Interstate 10 [Banning, CA]

Indio Man Dies in Fiery Crash near Desert Hills Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Facility


BANNING, CA (November 28, 2023) - Bernardo Fajardo lost his life Saturday morning in a rear-end big-rig collision on westbound Interstate 10. The incident occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m., near the Desert Hills Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Facility.
For reasons unknown, the driver of a vehicle rear-ended a big-rig. Upon impact, the vehicle became engulfed in flames. However, further circumstances leading up remain unclear.
Medical personnel later pronounced the driver that hit the big-rig dead at the scene. The Riverside County Coroner later identified the deceased victim as 22-year-old Fajardo, of Indio.
Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties.
