• Type of Foam: The type of foam you should choose ultimately depends on your personal situation. Choose as per your weather, health issues (including allergies), comfort, and liking. Also, keep your budget in mind. If you're going for a budget mattress, you may have to make some compromises, like off-gassing, overheating, etc.
• Thickness of Foam Layers: Generally, thicker materials are costlier, but it's not the thickness that matters alone. Thickness, along with the number of layers, material-type, foam-type, foam density, and its firmness, work in tandem to create the best mattresses. Mattress thickness varies from 6 inches up to 14 inches, or even thicker. Conventional foam mattresses comprise 3 layers of varying thickness.
