Candy Godkin Fatally Injured in 2-Car Accident on Greg Street [Reno, NV]

31-Year-Old Woman Pronounced Dead after Rollover Crash near Marietta Way

RENO, NV (November 30, 2023) - Candy Godkin lost his life early Friday morning in a two-car collision on Greg Street and Marietta Way. Emergency responders arrived at the location around 2:35 a.m., on November 24th.

According to initial reports, Godkin was traveling east on Greg Street, while Yulisa Esparaza-Salazar was heading west and crossed into the eastbound lanes, resulting in a fatal head-on collision. Despite the efforts of medics, Candy Godkin, aged 31, was pronounced dead at the scene.

In contrast, Esparaza-Salazar sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported by paramedics to a nearby hospital for further medical attention.

After completing preliminary procedures, the Sparks Police Department apprehended Esparaza-Salazar on DUI charges causing death, and she was subsequently booked into Washoe County Jail.
