HOUSTON, TX (December 16, 2023) - Devin Wold lost his life Thursday night, and Sherry Ann Parsons faced arrest following a DUI crash.
Law enforcement arrived at the scene around 11:35 p.m. on November 30th, located in the 700 block of North Shepherd Drive.
Officers say 32-year-old Parsons was operating a white Mitsubishi Outlander in the northbound lanes against the flow of traffic. She then collided head-on with a southbound white Volkswagen Jetta near West 7th Street.
Medical responders declared the Jetta's driver, 34-year-old Wold, deceased at the scene.
Meanwhile, Parsons sustained injuries that were not life-threatening, and she was transported to a nearby hospital by paramedics.
Upon completing initial procedures, law enforcement determined that Parsons had a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) exceeding .206. On Monday, December 4th, she was formally charged with intoxication manslaughter and booked into the Harris County Jail.
No words can mend the broken hearts and sorrow felt during this delicate moment. Deepest condolences and sympathies are with the family and friends of Devin John Wold.
