L.A. Weekly visited the Doc Johnson factory in North Hollywood, the center of the pleasure products (aka sex toys) empire started by local adult industry legend Ron Braverman in 1976. His children, Chad and Erica, are bringing the company into the current area of slick, smooth, Apple-inspired dildos, dongs, plugs, vibrators and even more exotic forms (such as the soon-to-be-launched Tryst). See their massive factory, where the Bravermans employ around 500 people who design, cast and manufacture a great percentage of devices for sexual play that curious people use in bedrooms (and elsewhere) all over America and the world.
