Douglas McIntire Dies in Motorcycle Accident on Highway 152 [Merced County, CA]

59-Year-Old Rider Pronounced Dead after Motorcycle Collision near Gonzaga Road

MERCED COUNTY, CA (October 24, 2023) - Sunday night, a motorcycle accident claimed the life of Douglas McIntire on Highway 152.

Around 11:30 p.m., law enforcement and emergency responders were dispatched to the westbound lanes of the freeway near Gonzaga Road.

Preliminary investigations are underway to ascertain the factors leading to the accident. It appears that the operator of a 2022 Honda motorcycle collided with a wooden construction closure sign while attempting to exit the highway.

The motorcyclist lost control and collided with the rear attenuator of a 2013 Freightliner parked on the on-ramp.

First responders pronounced the motorcyclist, later identified as 59-year-old McIntire from Los Banos, deceased at the scene.
