Feeding The Unhoused Of Skid Row With Local Lov - Heres Whats Popping Up

A night of music to benefit Lov Kitchen, which feeds the unhoused community of Skid Row, takes place on Saturday, Feb. 5, at the Globe Theater in downtown L.A.'s historic core. Acts include Marques Wyatt (Deep,) Silky (No. 19, Dialogue,) Fredo Cortez (Vertigo,) Andrei Osyka (Culprit) and Gerard Not Gerald (Incognito).

What started as a few sack lunches being handed out underneath an umbrella by global chart-topping trance singer, songwriter and trained chef Cari Golden, has evolved into the nonprofit Lov Kitchen, which does a weekly hot lunch service that feeds between 100-200 people. Each ticket sold will feed 20 people a hot, healthy meal and are available here.Proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test? required to gain entry to the event. The venue's air filters are superior and masks will be required.

Vintage Wine + Eats? presents: PINOT + PORKSTRAMI tonight in Studio City from 4 p.m. to close; takeout also will be available. Join the crew of the valley's only female sommelier-owned wine bar for a night of wine and porkstrami. Chef Rebecca King of The Bad Jew will be whipping up her signature Reubecca sandwiches (porkstrami, melted havarti, Russian dressing, and kraut on grilled sourdough), and?winemaker Rachel DeAscentiis of Say When Wine (Lompoc-based winery specializing in biodynamic wines made with minimal intervention) will be in town pouring her Chardonnay and Pinot to pair with them.

On Saturday, Jan. 29, Long Beach's original Tiki bar, The Bamboo Club, is hosting its first Sip & Shop? pop-up event from noon to 5 p.m. in their outdoor tent. Guests can browse through more than 15 vendors for one-of-a-kind vintage items, including a variety of glassware, art, and candles, while sipping on classic? Tiki drinks. There also will be burgers and mains featured on the restaurant's menu for lunch or dinner, like Thai Tea Brined Chicken Sandwich and the Vegan Unagi Burger.?
