Four Injured in DUI Multi-Vehicle Crash on West Axton Road [Ferndale, WA]

Impaired Driver Causes Three-Vehicle Collision which Resulted to Injuries on Aldrich Road

FERNDALE, WA (October 30, 2023) - On Tuesday afternoon, a crash on West Axton Road and Aldrich Road left four people with injuries.

The deadly incident occurred on October 24th around 1:35 p.m. involving three vehicles.

Furthermore, Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office Spokesperson Deb Slater said that a vehicle headed southbound on Aldrich Road ran over a stop sign and crashed into an eastbound vehicle and a westbound vehicle from West Axton Road.

Moreover, the crash resulted in multiple injuries, where two drivers including the impaired driver were in critical state. In contrast, the driver and the passenger of the westbound vehicle suffered minor wounds.

Consequently, all injured occupants were taken to the hospital by paramedics. In addition, the authorities blocked the intersection for several hours to conduct clearing duties. It was later reopened by 5:00 p.m.

No additional information was added, and the crash remains under investigation.
