
Chicago native Marc E. Williams formally known as M.Doc is a platinum music producer/ remixer with foundational roots now firmly planted in Los Angeles. A vet in the music industry, Marc and his production company, Indasoul Entertainment, have had `a hand in producing and/ or remixing for some of the industry’s biggest recording artists such as Chris Brown, Kelly Roland, Madonna, Janet Jackson, Twista, Jennifer Lopez, and countless others. Several of these project he did under the guidance of his one time mentor, Steve “Silk” Hurley, the 4x grammy-nominated music producer who happens to also be his brother –in-law.
Early on in his career, Marc learned the importance of music licensing and placing music in film and television. He has since assisted many successful artists in not only securing millions of streams but also crafting their signature sounds and helping them to fly above other talents.
After achieving success in the music world, Marc turned his eye to movie directing and integrating his wide range of interests. His music videos and independent films gained millions of views on Youtube and Vimeo. With his rising star as a director, even film festivals started buzzing about him.
Marc really believes in the soul of the artists he works with. Marc said: “I feel movies and music speak the same creative language. Whether I’m coaching an artist or directing an actor, I have one simple goal: to create a space for them to reveal their God-Given gifts on the mic or camera. Getting out of the way is always my biggest job, adding just a hint of inspiration, guidance, and a push when needed. I’m blessed to do what I love and what I’m meant to”.
As a filmmaker, he worked on several award-winning films and television shows. In addition to directing several projects for Netflix and Amazon Prime, Marc was named Best Director at the Marina Del Rey Film Festival for his short film “5 Minutes And Counting”. His work on the film landed it a key spot on Amazon Prime.
In addition to his work as a director, Marc is also an accomplished screenwriter. He co-wrote the western themed television pilot “Shadow Hills” along with Industry vet Lamont Clayton. The pilot features several renowned black actors as well as mega star Jamie Foxx as an executive producer.
He’s also been able to use his savvy to get music placed in top Television shows like American Idol, Temptation Island, Netflix’s hit show Love is Blind, Ellen, The Bachelor, Empire and many, many, more.
Marc’s perseverance and work ethic have led him to become a successful figure in the entertainment and music production business. He isn’t afraid to make his mark in a world where creative collaboration and authenticity captivate audiences. His will to create work that is artistic and sounds pleasing to audiences makes him a trend-setting director and producer.
Even though Marc has transitioned into a film director himself, In February of 2022 Marc agreed to throw back on his music executive hat and bring his talents as a music supervisor to the Christmas feature film “A Miracle Before Christmas” directed, written, and produced by LazRael Lison.
“A Miracle Before Christmas” will premiere Dec. 8 on BET+ and Dec 23rd on the BET flagship cable channel.
