Greenwolf's Zalympix Championship Contenders

Greenwolf's year-old cannabis contest has quickly become one of the most famed in the world, given the caliber of the people taking part.

In its third rendition, Zalympix will pair the best companies from the first two editions in an all-winners bracket, with the champion being decided on June 11.

We've judged every Zalympix so far at L.A. Weekly and the championship was no different. But let's reminisce a little before going into the contest's latest and greatest edition.

The first Zalympix came out the gate hard. While the Blue Zushi would take home top honors, there was a lot of heat in the inaugural box. Other noteworthy strains from that edition included Alien Labs' fantastic Biskante, DEO Farms' and Wizard Trees collaboration on Zoap, and LoKey's Heavy Fog #4.

The second edition of Zalympix would see Sacramento-based Blueprint taking the top honors for their Triple Lindy flower. We'd been ranting and raving about Blueprint since last summer at the time of the victory, so it was no surprise to us they took home the W. Other contenders from the second box for us included Fly from Powerzzzup and the Pomelo Anderson from Fiore that took home the award for highest terpene content.

The Contenders:

The latest box indeed held up with the spectacle of the first two editions. We got the box last Thursday afternoon and had it finished by noon on Friday. Every entry was consumed in a Nicaragua-grown Brothers Broadleaf Connecticut Broadleaf. Some might wonder how I tasted the weed, but the heat cuts right through a blunt once you get to the mountaintop.

Our top pick for this edition has to be the Cereal A La Mode from Fiore and Powerzzzup. But the Zoap is certainly a contender. Alien Lab's Biskante is again right there for us and was our top pick in the original edition. And finally, the Blueprint is very competitive as they look to repeat their Winter Zalympix win.

Here are all of them:
