Multiple Teenagers Killed, Conner Tackett Injured in Speeding Collision near U.S. Highway 82

ARCHER COUNTY, TX (October 24, 2023) – Haegen Williams, Colby Cargal, and Sydnee Trambell lost their lives in a high-speed collision early Monday morning.

Around 2:30 a.m. on October 9th, law enforcement rushed to the location near U.S. Highway 82 in response to the incident.

According to authorities, Conner James Tackett was behind the wheel of a 2018 Chevrolet Camaro, traveling north on Highway 277 at dangerously high speeds. Tackett lost control of the vehicle while navigating a sharp turn, causing it to skid to the side.

The car ultimately collided with a culvert, resulting in it overturning and igniting in flames. Medical personnel later declared 16-year-old Williams, 16-year-old Cargal, and 15-year-old Trambell deceased at the scene.

Meanwhile, Tackett, the driver, was transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention. It has been determined that none of the occupants were wearing their seat belts at the time of the accident. An active investigation is currently underway to gather additional information.

Sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Haegen Williams, Colby Cargal and Sydnee Trambell. Thoughts are with them during this very difficult time.
