HazMat Situation Believed To Have Led To 1 Death, 2 Hospitalizations

The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) HazMat Squad were called in an apparent overdose incident that may have led to one death and two hospitalizations, Monday.

The three men were in the Broadway-Manchester area, with a 28-year-old man found dead inside a vehicle, alongside another man in critical condition, and a third person outside the vehicle.

The two 30-year-old men who were found alive, were immediately transported to the hospital.

"The evidence on scene indicates an overdose resulting in a death which leads to the suspicion of the unknown substance being fentanyl," LAFD said in an update.  "LAPD, LAFD, LA IMPACT and LA Coroner are all on scene for the investigation."

A cause of death has not been determined as of this writing and LAPD has taken over the investigation.
