Hell Freezes Over for VNSSA: One of California's finest house/techno artists, VNSSA, got her start in music when she was drumming in an indie rock band in Costa Mesa, and then started going out to the local clubs and festivals to see DJs and electronic acts.

"That's where I first fell in love with the scene," VNSSA says. "I got started with a controller that I bought on Craigslist. I practiced and played random parties for my friends (house parties, bbq's, etc). I wanted to keep going and play for more people and knew that if I wanted to play festivals I'd have to start producing my own music. I think that's when it became serious. I can't tell you how many hours I've sat at my computer watching youtube tutorials, and troubleshooting Ableton."

VNSSA says that he sound today has some dark vibes, vintage rave influence, techno undertones, while still falling under the house umbrella.

"I listen to just about every genre of music and sometimes I feel like my sound is everywhere, because I'm influenced by all the different styles," she says. "I guess it's organized chaos."

The artist feels that this is a healthy time for electronic music, because of the way many people are experimenting with different genres.

"Tech house is so trendy right now that house music is gaining a lot of new fans and attention," VNSSA says. "So I couldn't be happier about it. The more people listening to house music the better!"

VNSSA's latest release is "Touch Me."

"'Touch me' was recorded towards the beginning of the year in my home studio in Los Angeles," she says. "When I wrote it I had been listening to a lot of Orbital, Chemical Brothers, and the Prodigy, so it has a lot of that old school rave influence, especially the gritty synths. I wanted to make something catchy that could be played during an opening set, peak time, and closing, while still maintaining a driving energy."

Looking ahead, VNSSA has plenty planned for the rest of the year.

"Right now I'm in the middle of my Hell Freezes Over Tour which goes until October," she says. "I'm playing every weekend across the US with some really good friends/ DJs including: Mary Droppinz, Kyle Kitch, Nala, and Kaleena Zanders. You can also expect a ton of new music coming out (including a big release next month on Dirtybird). I also have a new episode of my radio show Super Creep Radio every first Friday of the month that airs on Diplo's Revolution on Sirius XM."
