BongaCams, without a doubt, has the potential to be one of the very best cam sites to watch models perform live shows online. However, one major flaw holds me back from giving this platform a perfect score.
Even with its shortcomings, BC still holds its own against its competitors, and I have to say that it's worth checking out even if you experience the technical difficulties and annoyances that I did when reviewing it.

BongaCams is one of the more recognizable names in the world of live cam sites. And, like its peers, it boasts of providing users with an online platform where they can watch nude cam models perform live shows.
It touts itself as the most visited live camming site but I highly doubt that (the throne still belongs to Chaturbate until now). Call it false advertising or whatever you want, but I understand: you gotta do what you gotta do to put your name out there, right?
Despite this, I'd be lying if I told you that I didn't find this live sex cam site to be a decent option, even for broke, filthy pervs like me to visit.
But I'm getting ahead of myself here, let's start at the beginning.
From the get-go, there was nothing that blew me away with BongaCams' homepage from a visual standpoint. However, I commend this cam site for providing an initial site interface that's very much streamlined, making it as user-friendly as possible.
BC's site layout reminds me of Chaturbate, except this one's better because it has more things going for it (that are so, so important). It also doesn't give you the information overload that Chaturbate's gargantuan amount of suggested cam models provides.
Here, you're getting a decent number of cam model suggestions from a variety of categories.

BongaCams doesn't cut corners when it comes to providing options.
It does admittedly suffer from the usual problem plaguing most cam sites though: the fact that there are far more cam girls compared to trans cam models or cam boys out there. But this is more an industry trend matter than it is an issue with the site itself.
Compared to other cam sites, BC has more or less the same amount of cam models in each of their categories, which makes it a pretty robust roster that people of most genders can enjoy.
So, it didn't take me long to hop on the BongaCams bandwagon and create my own account.
It's quick, easy and FREE.
Initially, you're just going to need a username and password. After that, you're good to go.
I was then redirected to the homepage. And, oh boy, BongaCams doesn't waste time trying to get you to buy some of their sweet tokens. This pop-up immediately appeared after I created my account, and it's annoyingly the first of many BongaCams ads that I encountered:
At this point, I had a working account that allowed me to enter the various cam rooms that the site had. You should also note that creating an account with BongaCams doesn't immediately require you to link up a payment method with them, which is nice.
However, if you want a more in-depth experience, you can add your email address:
The option appears as a banner on top of the homepage after you create an account, and going through this process allows you to receive extra perks like email updates and exclusive promos.
I went ahead and did that, too. It was fairly easy; no problems there.
Having an active BongaCams account allows you to accept lots of fun little features, so much so that it even makes this live cam site look like a social media platform, too!
As a member, you get access to:- Wall section for post updates, photos, and video clips

- My clips, features live cams you've recorded (some models allow that)
- Membership page when you want to upgrade
- Profile settings
- Notifications
- Invisible mode to help keep things private
- Security center for your privacy settings

Of all these, I'd say my favorite is the My clips? section.
Some models offer a recording feature that allows you to save their shows for an additional fee (sometimes it's free with the private or group chat, depending on the model).
But here's the thing?
I'm a new member, which means I hadn't watched any shows until this point. Why was the My clips? section showing I had five notifications?
Well, that's nice. I got a welcome gift from the site in the form of 5 clips from their models.
This is also a great way for the cam site to help their cam girls, cam boys, and trans models to spread their names and advertise.
I went back to the homepage and, again, was still pretty amazed at how organized and effective the site layout is: this is a classic example of prioritizing function over form.
Notice how there weren't any search filters visible earlier? That's because BongaCams doesn't shove it down your throat the way other cam sites do. Instead, you access this window by clicking on an icon on the upper left corner of the page, just beside the BongaCams logo.
Also, you're going to notice how the suggested models' thumbnails on the site have various icons on them.
It's fairly easy to understand. Beside each model's name, there are widgets for various social media sites like IG, Twitter or Snapchat. That means the highlighted model has these accounts, which you can follow. But more on that later...
Additionally, if you're familiar with cam sites, you're going to recognize the circular logo on the lower right portion of these model thumbnails. This indicates interactive sex toys that you can control. Most BongaCams models use this type of toy.
After that, it was time for me to see what BC had to offer in terms of searching for the right cam model. As per usual, I checked their filters first.
If I'm being completely honest, I have to say that BongaCams' search filters looked rather underwhelming at first glance. It's a good thing this site served me some humble pie just a few minutes later, because clicking on those dropdown menus will reveal some of the most diverse categories ever.
Plus, I appreciate how these filters adjust depending on whether you're checking out cam girls, trans models or cam boys.
But perhaps the most intriguing thing about BongaCams' filters is how they're nicely transparent with their roster count. It shows you how many live cam rooms are active at any given time which is something other camming platforms don't tend to do.
All in all, I'd have to say that BongaCams has one of the larger cam model rosters out there, and it's more than enough to help you find the perfect performer!
The search engine is efficient, too: it can handle multiple keywords that provide you with results featuring models that fit your tastes.
And it's nice that there's a model counter beside it that shows how many cam models within that category (girls in my case) are available at any given moment.
It's also great that BongaCams has a lot of promos going on to help you get more tokens. But once I got on further with the review, I then understood why there are so many promotional campaigns on this site. More on that later.
With that out of the way, it was time for the part that I always look forward to whenever I review these cam sites: the sex cam rooms!BongaCams Public Chat Rooms - Some of the Most Fun I've Seen
It didn't take me more than a minute to use the filters to search for one that piqued my libido, so I entered one of BongaCams' chat rooms.
Man, they didn't advertise this, but I really appreciate that BC allows you to watch shows for free using their public chat rooms.
By that, I mean you're not just going to find a boring lobby where the cam models wait for a client to take them to a private setting; the public chat rooms on this cam site work using a tip-based and goal-based format.
As is the norm, you're going to find the live stream on the left side of the chatroom and the chat window on the right. Models usually post their show's goal? on top of this chat window along with their tip menu right within the chat window.
What caught my eye were the little icons at the bottom part of the chat window, too. This isn't just reserved for emojis and font sizes.
BongaCams is the only cam site I've visited that has this many interactive options available!
There's a slot machine game where you pay tokens and get rewarded with sexy, little prizes. You pay for this using BC tokens.
The dice game is another interactive chat function, too, and it works pretty much the same as the slot machine, albeit it's much cheaper and the rewards are far more modest.
The roulette game is something that's not exactly unique to BongaCams. You can find this on other cam websites as well, but it's always nice to have. It's kinda the middle-of-the-road game here in terms of pricing.
You'll also notice a couple more buttons above that are inactive.
The one on the far right is for another game, bingo, and the one next to it is an icon that allows you to send tips to your cam model in exchange for toy vibrations.
But perhaps my favorite interactive chat room feature on BongaCams is the autoDJ feature.
It's a modest way that allows you to set the mood within the room. So, if you wanted your cam model to dance to a Milli Vanilli song, you can actually do it here.
Ain't that the dream, after all?
The live stream windows on BC are also nice, guys and girls. It doesn't burden you with too many clickable icons and instead sticks to the essentials:
?You have your technical functions, like the volume controls, a video resolution panel, and the fullscreen function. And then, you have buttons for group chats, private chats, and for sending tips your model's way.
When you scroll down the chat room, you're going to find a nicely detailed section featuring the model's profile and other additional features that allow viewers to support the model.
As with most cam sites, the live stream turns into a mini player when you scroll down the room. It's quite curious to see the little live stream on the left side of the screen, but not so much when you realize it's set up that way so that you can see more ads on the right.
Ugh.
The profiles are concise, although you have the option of checking out the models' full profiles by clicking on that icon beside their name.
In the middle, you'll see a short description of the model. And the section next to it is what I consider to be the most important: a list of services and the willingness? of the model to perform any given act during their shows!
The section on the farthest right is for gifts, which appear once you send them virtual ones that you purchase using your BC tokens.
And in some cases, there's an additional section that shows you this:
Yup, that's a feature that allows you to follow your model on other social media sites. Do note that some of them allow you to do this for free, while some charge a certain amount of BC tokens before they give you access to their social media accounts.
I will say this...it's nice how BC doesn't just provide the usual online tits and ass shows for their models and fans. Instead, they provide a legit online environment where they can connect with one another.
Another thing to note about model and fan interaction is this little feature right here:
Fan boosts allow you to help your model out by bumping their chat rooms to the front of the queue, which ultimately helps their business.
It's only available for premium members, though, which means you're going to spend a monthly subscription fee first before you're allowed to use it.

Having checked every nook and cranny within BongaCams' public chat rooms, I thought it was time for me to buy some tokens so I can contribute to these performers' respective livelihoods.

I went back to the homepage first, and look at what literally popped up when I got there!
Not content with just one annoying pop-up ad, BongaCams went hard and doubled down.
And right before I got to the token purchase? window, holy mother of shit:

You seriously have to calm the fuck down on all these pop-up ads. This one appeared on the lower right of my screen just as I was checking out how to buy some BongaCams tokens.
But they weren't lying when they said that they have some of the cheapest tokens around:
Apart from the bonuses and promos they're running, they're also giving out discounts on their token bundles. They charge in Euros, but not by too much.
Look at those deals: they look nice, right?
I mean, 156 tokens for approximately $11? Not bad at all?
Payment methods on BC are decent, pretty much the usual: credit cards, cryptos, and Skrill. It sucks that live cam sites still haven't made PayPal one of the more accessible payment methods around, but it is what it is.As with most other cam sites, you get to choose which payment processor to use.
