17-Year-Old Girl Killed, Three Injured in Fiery Rollover Collision near Santa Rosa Creek

SANTA ROSA, CA (October 17, 2023) - Friday night, Jaden Pruett Steed was apprehended after a DUI-related accident on Montgomery Drive in Santa Rosa.

The incident was reported around 10:15 p.m. at the 5100 block of Montgomery Drive, when a vehicle lost control while traveling westbound, ultimately crashing into a creek and igniting into flames.

Local residents nearby rushed to aid the 17-year-old in the left rear seat and the 19-year-old man in the front passenger seat. The 17-year-old girl seated in the rear right position succumbed to her injuries at the scene, and her identity remains undisclosed to the public.

The driver, identified as 21-year-old Jaden Pruett Steed from Santa Rosa, sustained minor injuries and was promptly taken to a nearby hospital.

Police investigations revealed that Steed was operating the vehicle under the influence, with a blood alcohol content of 0.11%. Subsequently, Santa Rosa authorities arrested Steed on charges of suspected DUI and vehicular manslaughter.
