James Beard Chef and Restaurant 2014 Award Winners

As you probably already know if you follow this sort of thing, the James Beard Foundation has been having its annual party in New York over the last few days, during which it's been announcing the results of the 2014 Beard awards. The book, broadcast and journalism awards were announced Friday. And tonight, the foundation has just announced the chef and restaurant awards.

Congrats go to Nancy Silverton for her win in the Outstanding Chef category. If you're one of the many Angelenos who has repeatedly lined up at Mozza - and before that, at Campanile and La Brea Bakery - in the years that Silverton has been in the kitchen, you'll know that the award is very, very well-deserved.

The Best Chef of the West award goes to Daniel Patterson of Coi in San Francisco, who beat out L.A. chefs Michael Cimarusti and Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo in that category. And, though we knew this already, Sherry Yard was one of six inducted into the Beard Foundation's Who's Who of Food & Beverage in America. For the rest of the winners, turn the page.
