Jose Vasquez Romero Dies in Single-Vehicle Accident on Madison Avenue [Fresno, CA]

51-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Solo-Car Crash on North Peach Avenue


FRESNO, CA (November 21, 2023) - Jose Vasquez Romero died Tuesday night in a solo-car collision at the intersection of East Madison Avenue and North Peach Avenue.
Dispatchers responded to the scene just before 8:00 p.m., after receiving multiple calls in the area. According to reports, truck driver suddenly pulled over on the northbound shoulder.

The driver then exited the truck and walked to the back for reasons unknown. Officers say the vehicle was in reverse, and subsequently ran him over leaving the man with fatal injuries.
Shortly after, a witness in the area saw the vehicle with its driver door open and a man underneath the truck. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics later declared 51-year-old Romero, of Fresno deceased.
At this time, police officers are still investigating alcohol as a potential factor in the crash. Once available, further details will be provided.
