Joshua Hatfield Pronounced Dead following Hit-and-Run Crash on Willow Avenue [Clovis, CA]

2 Arrested after Fatal Pedestrian Crash Near Shaw Avenue


CLOVIS, CA (October 19, 2023) - Early Wednesday morning, Joshua Hatfield was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver on Willow Avenue.
Around 12:30 a.m., officers found a man lying on the roadway on Willow and Shaw Avenue with serious injuries.
According to the police, the man was believed to be riding a motorized scooter at the time of the collision. Despite the life-saving efforts of the officer, the man died succumbed to his injuries at a Fresno hospital.
Initial investigation suggests that an SUV going north on a green light collided with the man crossing Willow against a red light.
Police said the SUV driver pulled over and spoke to another driver in a separate vehicle. For unknown reasons, the two drivers swapped vehicles and went on separate ways.
Eventually, authorities managed to arrest both drivers, identified as Tracy Slocum and Latray Magano. Both suspects are 35 years old.
In addition, the Clovis police also identified the deceased victim as 23-year-old Joshua Hatfield of Fresno.
Clovis officials continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
