Kesha Performs New Songs at Grammy Museum: On more than one occasion while both performing and then engaging in a Q&A at the Grammy Museum on Monday night, Kesha acknowledges that she's had a very difficult year. Her legal war with Dr. Luke that included allegations of the most vile assaults finally came to an end after eight years. For Kesha's sake, we hope that she's able to find some peace as she moves forward.

She certainly seemed comfortable and at ease during this intimate Grammy Museum performance. These things are always a real pleasure; we've seen everyone from Richard Marx and Sammy Hagar to Lana Del Rey and the Bangles do one of these "An Evening With..." shows at this venue, and it's always wonderful to see big league musicians in cozy surroundings.

Usually, the artist does the Q&A first, and then concludes with a short set. This time, Kesha did it in reverse. We got three acoustic versions of songs from this year's self-explanatory Gag Order album -- "Eat the Acid," "Fine Line" and "Happy."

During the Q&A, she describes "Eat the Acid" as her baby, and the song she's most looking forward to performing during he forthcoming full tour. "Fine Line," meanwhile, is a song she wrote over many months with her mom, the two of them constantly exchanging ideas of what there are fine lines between (such as romance and craziness). And "Happy," Kesha said from the stage, references the fact that happiness is really the only thing that matters. Amen.

She concluded her set with an acoustic take on 2011 dance floor banger "Blow." That treatment, in the Grammy Museum environment, was a treat. What was wild and decadent becomes restrained and poignant.

During the Q&A, Kesha opened up to an impressively startling degree, describing the process of working on her very personal recent album with Rick Rubin as being like going to the toilet in front of people. She talked about the process of recording her cats so that they could guest on the record, of the fact that she was listening to Radiohead and LCD Soundsystem during recording, and of the overall joy of working with Rubin.

The tour sounds like it'll be epic. But this intimate night was decidedly special.
