Every year, we take the opportunity to spotlight L.A. companies for our Culture Section's holiday
gift guides, and for Valentine's Day 2023, we discovered mostly women-owned businesses celebrating looking and feeling sexy as well as mental and physical health. If you're looking for last minute V-Day goodies for women and femmes, check out this list featuring lingerie, toys, art, sweets, sweats, heels and more, all based in L.A.

Creepy Gals celebrates the vampy side of Valentine's Day, so it makes our annual list nearly every year. The unique designs of L.A. artist Elle Chin are at Lethal Amounts' new space today! Danny Fuentes' beloved gallery just moved to Little Tokyo, so the Creepy pop-up is also a sneak peek. Goths, ghouls and girly-girls alike should get over there to snag fetishy pink and red art-adorned tees, cards and other goodies that go way beyond your average eye candy. Pop-up (339 East 1st St., Little Tokyo) runs thru Sunday, Feb. 12, but you can buy the treats online too, at

Another pop-up and photo-op pitstop that's in think-pink mode,
SKIMS-- Kim Kardashian's ever-expanding shapewear and underwear brand-- has created a melted pink heart-adorned environment at the Westfield Century City mall featuring all the brand's best sellers in shades of powder pink, hot pink and Barbie pink, plus under/outer wear in sweet prints and basic black. You don't have to be a fan of
The Kardashians to be a fan of this comfy, stretchy, size-inclusive line, especially now that it's gone beyond neutrals to colorful lace-edged pieces like the V-Day collection. The pop-up is open thru Sunday, Feb. 12 but you can get these new designs online also, if they haven't sold out yet.

L.A. sisters Celine Nehoray and Joline Nehoray Nazarian of
Beverly Hills Lingerie make frilly, lacy, racy pieces to be worn in intimate situations or to be used as layers for night-on-the-town ensembles. Their bralettes, one-pieces and underbust corsets are perfect under a blazer or peeking out of a slip dress. Inspired by Madonna and Cher's bold style, the "street-to-the-sheets" looks make for Valentine's gifts any femme would love to unwrap.

Briavia, an AAPI-woman-owned and operated L.A. brand recently went viral for its flared legging for good reason. The v-shaped waistband flatters every body, cinching and elongating legs and booty in comfort (the fabric is buttery soft). A visit to the Briavia website offers other finds too-- like this V-Day appropriate LOVE sweats set. Created and shipped in-house at their studio Downtown, there's also a shopping experience for influencers and customers. Says owner Brianna Via," I love the whole experience of building something from the ground up and forming a team I call my family. I chose Los Angeles to launch BRIAVIA because it's my favorite place in the world."

Jackie Beat is and will always be our favorite comedy queen in L.A. JB's talents are endless. She even
helped LA Weekly readers with their problems last year to celebrate her TV show
Dr. Jackie. This Valentine's Day we're coveting the drag legend's "Fuckable Clown-- Eye Invented That" eyeshadow palate which she just got back in stock for the holiday. With shades such as "Carrie" (blood red) and "Robot Jizz" (silver glitter) it's a way to bring a li'l color and comedy to your cosmetic collection.

Valentine's Day is the perfect time to get experimental in the bedroom. Even if you or your partner aren't the sex toy type, you'll love giving or getting
Woo More Play products. Lady Gaga had the right idea when she sang about her "Disco Stick." Woo's Vibez G spot stimulator with disco ball handle and cute packaging make it a no brainer for couples and singles. The L.A. based, female-owned sex-positive company is also a great galentine's idea for the glam gal/dance floor diva in your life. According to Woo's owner, "our purpose is to empower women to have better sex, by delivering high-quality intimacy products that put her first. With a focus on natural, organic ingredients and female-forward products."

Queer women owned brand
Lorals touts a large sex-positive community in LA. Available at shops like Cupid's Close and Stockroom, their oral sex undies went viral last spring when they received FDA clearance for STI-protection. Out to reinvent the dental dam, CEO Melanie Cristol created multi-functional panties that are so ultra-thin they feel like nothing.

The days of Summer’s Eve douche life are long gone, honey. Local actress and content creator Lala Milan is keeping things real with
Vagitaminz, providing “the perfect remedy to regulate the balance of vaginal PH.” Women who experience issues with odor or yeast infections should give the pretty pink bottle of suppositories a try. Milan says it’s about feeling refreshed and making vaginal health a priority by talking about it and taking care of it proudly, not keeping the topic under the radar.

Speaking of happy va-jay-jay's...
Loona's new bedside urinal jug is out to take away the discomfort and shame of a weak bladder with its sculptural knick-knack look and easy to use design. Created by two women (L.A. native Byrdie Lifson Pompan --a former agent and partner at Creative Artists Agency (CAA)-- and Dr. Valerie Ulene), Loona keeps the female anatomy in mind with a form fitting contour and reservoir featuring 'quiet fill technology.' This one makes a marvelous mom gift as well as a thoughtful item for those recovering from surgery, injury or pregnancy. It'll also come in handy on roadtrips.

A lot of people hate Valentine's Day. We get it. If you're single, you feel left out. If you're coupled, you feel pressure. We all know it's a corporate-created concept via the greeting card and candy companies and not really about love. But that doesn't mean you can't have fun with it. If you want to make a sexy statement --or rather anti-statement-- splurge on
KiraKira Couture’s debut Valentine’s Day Collection including their FU Boots, in red, black or silver glitter. "F "can stand for a lot of things by the way; we suggest Fabulous!
