Last Minute Thanksgiving Ideas For A Low-Stress Holiday

There’s still time left to plan low-stress Thanksgiving and Friendsgiving feasts that will keep the mess to a minimum. Here are a few  ideas to kick off the holiday season.
The Hideaway in Beverly Hills is offering a special turkey dinner on Thanksgiving Day for $55 with all the trimmings, including roasted turkey breast with tequila gravy,  marshmallow yams, pepita stuffing, pumpkin pie with whipped cream and warm pecan pie with dulce de leche ice cream. 
Messhall Kitchen in Los Feliz has take-home Thanksgiving packages for $135, which serve four or more people, and include a whole smoked turkey, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy and roasted vegetables. Pre-order online or over the phone to pick up the day before Thanksgiving, on Wednesday, 11/23. Link to purchase here.

Eataly LA’s holiday preorders are live now and available until November 20 with pick up on November 22 and 23, subject to availability. There will also be a wide range of sides and mains available right up until the last minute in their to-go counters. 
They have a range of local, heritage and pasture-raised turkeys and smaller cuts, as well as curated salumi and formaggi platters, chef-prepared sides – like freshly baked bread and focaccia stuffing from our bakery, Toro cake topped with white chocolate cremino and toasted hazelnuts. 
The $239 dinner for four Includes housemade stuffing, gravy and cranberry sauce as well as organic pea soup, baked pumpkin ravioli with Parmigiano Reggiano, glazed pre-cooked sliced turkey breast, sweet potatoes, brussel sprouts and apple pie with mascarpone cream.

Plant-based Gracias Madre is bringing back their sweet and savory holiday tamales this season as well as sides and batched cocktails to-go. The menu includes red smoked jackfruit birria with salsa guajillo tamales, green roasted butternut squash with chipotle kale and salsa chilaca tamales, red tamale salsa guajillo, green tamale salsa chilaca and pico de gallo. Sides to take away include herb rice pilaf, roasted yams and mushroom gravy, maple glazed carrots, pesto Brussels sprouts and braised beans and kale. The tequila margarita 4-pack serves 8 for $75,  the mezcal margarita 4-pack serves 8 at $80 and the paloma 4-pack serves 4 at  $48.
Encanto in Los Feliz is offering its Thanksgiving specialty cocktail, Pumpkin Spice White Russian, throughout the month of November. It's made up of a golden rim of pumpkin pie spice, sugar and crushed graham crackers with vodka and coffee liqueur combined with pumpkin spice creamer, topped with whipped cream and dusted with pumpkin pie spice.
Tired of turkey? Tulsi in Northridge is offering the Regional Thali Experience – a unique platter crafted by Tulsi’s regional chefs, served on a plate (thali) which consists of several dishes from a traditional Northern Indian lunch and includes samosas, malai kofta, dal makhani, makhan pulav, chaas and more. The Gujarati Thali Experience features dishes from the traditional Gujarat region such as khatta dhokla, Gujarati kadhi, roti, puri, chaas and an array of additional options. Tulsi’s India-on-a-plate experience starts at $18 per person. Reservations can be made here.

Spanish Mediterranean restaurant Soulmate has holiday inspired cocktail kits from bar director, Naomi Schimek that contain four to five servings and are available for pre-order and pick-up on November 23 between 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. Soulmate’s Thanksgiving Cocktail Kits range from $40-$120 (with spirit upgrade) and include A Little Bit Alexis, $40 (red wine sangria, curacao, citrus, and mint), U Up?, $48 (Japanese whisky, chai, almond, allspice, and nutmeg) as well as Soulmate Margaritas, $45 (tequila or mezcal, citrus and housemade tahin). Cocktail Kits can be pre-order through Tock here at 631 N. Robertson Blvd and can be ordered until November 21. 
The Front Yard at The Garland in North Hollywood is offering a buffet-style Thanksgiving feast with roasted butternut squash soup or wild arugula salad, and entrees including Tandori roasted turkey with cranberry and yogurt sauce or smoked prime rib with bearnaise and au jus. Sweet treats include chocolate pecan tarts, pumpkin cupcakes and a banana split station. Enjoy the seasonally-inspired dishes from 12 p.m. - 8 p.m.; menus are available for $75 per adult and $35 for kids (ages 12 and under). Dining reservations can be made here. 
Celebrate Thanksgiving Eve in the aloha spirit at Billy’s at the Beach during the annual Thanksgiving Eve Late Night Luau on Wednesday, November 23 from 9 p.m. to close in Newport Beach. There will be an all-night extended happy hour featuring late night pupus including Kalua pulled pork sliders, teriyaki-marinated chicken skewers, and tempura green beans with sweet chili or soy sauce. Island-inspired cocktails including the Lemonade Luau, Sunset Martini and Blue Hawaiian.
