SAN FRANCISCO, CA (October 18, 2023) - Saturday morning, Laura Taylor lost her life in a hit-and-run incident while riding her bicycle along Highway 280.
The incident prompted a swift response from law enforcement, occurring at approximately 12:27 a.m. on October 14th, along the northbound lanes in close proximity to Alemany Boulevard East.
According to initial reports, the driver of a vehicle collided with a pedestrian initially believed to be walking in the central median, going against oncoming traffic. Subsequently, it was clarified that the victim was, in fact, riding a bicycle.
Around 12:41 a.m., units from the San Francisco Fire Department arrived at the scene, and confirmed the death of one person. The driver responsible for the incident did not stop and fled the scene prior to the arrival of authorities.
Later, the Office of the Medical Examiner identified the deceased as 41-year-old Taylor, who resided in San Francisco's Mission District.
