RIALTO, CA (October 12, 2023) - On Saturday, Leopoldo Padilla Mondragon lost his life in a bicycle accident on South Riverside Avenue.
The incident occurred around 7:05 p.m. on South Riverside Avenue, near Santa Ana Avenue. First responders swiftly arrived at the scene.
Upon their arrival, law enforcement discovered that a white 2008 Hyundai Elantra had collided with a cyclist who was traveling south in the middle of the No. 2 lane.
Despite immediate efforts, emergency personnel pronounced the male bicyclist dead at the scene. Authorities later identified the deceased as 65-year-old Leopoldo Padilla Mondragon, a resident of Laguna Hills.
After conducting preliminary investigations, officers determined that the suspect's vehicle was located in Bloomington. Consequently, a warrant for the arrest of 46-year-old Santos Lopez-Rosales from San Bernardino was issued, as he was suspected of a hit-and-run.
