CERES, CA (December 19, 2023) - Leroy Don Smith and Youkhana Atrmiz died Tuesday night in a head-on crash on Hatch Road and Booth Road. Dispatchers responded to the scene around 8:20 p.m.
Reports indicate that the operator of a white Chrysler 300 traveling east veered across the double yellow lines. The Chrysler then collided head-on with a blue Toyota Prius, trapping three individuals in both vehicles.
Shortly after, a passenger inside the Toyota succumbed to their injuries on-site.
The deceased was later identified as 89-year-old Smith from Castro Valley. The Chrysler's driver, identified as 36-year-old Atrmiz from Ceres, also succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. Meanwhile, the 64-year-old female Toyota driver remained hospitalized in serious but stable condition.
