MORGAN HILL, CA (November 27, 2023) - Wednesday afternoon, a motorcycle accident on Uvas Road resulted in the fatal injury of a male motorcyclist. The incident unfolded around 2:45 p.m. at the junction of Uvas and Watsonville Road, near Morgan Hill.
According to an eyewitness, the male rider of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle reportedly disregarded a posted stop sign while traveling east on Uvas. He then made a northbound turn onto Watsonville Road, colliding with a southbound Toyota Camry.
Both the male rider and his 60-year-old female passenger were ejected from the motorcycle onto the roadway. The 68-year-old man from Los Gatos, who was operating the motorcycle, suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
Responding paramedics transported the female passenger to Valley Medical Center for treatment of significant injuries. Authorities confirmed that the Camry's driver emerged from the collision unharmed.
Presently, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) is actively investigating to determine if drugs or alcohol played a role in the incident. Individuals with additional information about the fatal collision are encouraged to contact the CHP at 408-427-0700.
