Man Pronounced Dead after Rollover Crash near Sudden Road

LOMPOC, CA (October 17, 2023) - Wednesday afternoon, one victim was airlifted following a UTV rollover incident on San Miguelito Road.

Police arrived at the scene at approximately 1:57 p.m., located in the 4800 block of San Miguelito Road near Sudden Road.

Per reports, the operator of a Utility Task Vehicle lost control which resulted in a rollover. Amidst the chaos, the UTV then ended up on top of the driver. Colleagues of the victim utilized a water tender and a chain to lift the UTV off the seriously injured person.

Medical responders airlifted the injured individual to Marian Medical Center using Calstar Air. Two other individuals were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries that were not specified.

Officers in Lompoc are actively working to determine further circumstances surrounding the UTV accident. Additional information will be provided when it becomes available.
