Man Dies in Motorcycle/SUV Collision on North Mines Road [Livermore, CA]

Two-Vehicle Crash at Shirley Way Left Livermore Motorcyclist Dead


LIVERMORE, CA (October 19, 2023) - Tuesday afternoon, a man was declared dead in a motorcycle/SUV collision on North Mines Road.
Officials received reports of the crash involving two vehicles around 4:50 p.m. on N. Mines Road and Shirley Way.
The responding LPD officers learned that a Honda CR-V turning left onto Shirley collided with a northbound motorcycle.
Despite the life-saving efforts of the firefighters, the motorcyclist died at the scene. At this time, his identity remains undisclosed to the public, pending notification from the next of kin.
Meanwhile, the Honda driver, only identified as a Livermore woman in her early 60s, cooperated with the investigators.
In the end, officials closed down Mines Road from East Avenue to Dana Circle and Shirley Way for investigation. However, the roadway has since been reopened to the public. Police ruled out drugs and alcohol to be a factor in the incident.
