Male Pedestrian Killed in Fatal Accident near North near North Vermont Avenue

LOS ANGELES, CA (October 10, 2023) - Early Friday morning, a hit-and-run incident on the 101 Freeway claimed the life of a man.

The incident occurred near North Vermont Avenue, with dispatchers arriving at the scene around 4:45 a.m.

As of now, the circumstances leading up to the collision are unclear. However, preliminary reports suggest that a male pedestrian was dragged by a vehicle for several hundred yards.

Emergency medical personnel pronounced the man dead at the scene. In response, authorities closed the southbound lanes of the 101 Freeway for investigation.

The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner has only identified the deceased victim as a man in his twenties. Officials from Los Angeles have yet to release further information about the collision.

As of now, the suspect responsible for the hit-and-run remains at large.
