Man Fatally Struck in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident on Alamitos Avenue [Long Beach, CA]

Male Pedestrian Pronounced Dead after Fatal Collision near Anaheim Street

LONG BEACH, CA (November 16, 2023) - A hit-and-run pedestrian crash occurred on Alamitos Avenue Sunday night, resulting in the fatality of one man.

Emergency dispatchers were alerted to the incident at approximately 10:50 p.m., at the 1300 block of Alamitos Avenue, near Anaheim Street.

According to reports, the driver of a northbound vehicle collided with a man who was standing in the middle of Alamitos Avenue. The driver then fled the scene without contacting authorities. Upon the arrival of emergency personnel, the injured man was transported to a nearby hospital.

There, he succumbed to his injuries later on. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased victim once the next of kin has been informed.

Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the fatal hit-and-run to come forward and share information with detectives at 562-570-7355. Additional details will be provided as they become available.
