LAS VEGAS, NV (October 20, 2023) - Early Monday, one man was hospitalized after a pedestrian accident on Charleston Boulevard. The incident drew a response from the police at approximately 1:30 a.m. on October 16th, just west of Commerce Street.

According to reports, a male pedestrian made an attempt to cross Charleston Boulevard outside of a designated crosswalk when he was struck by a 2005 Honda Accord traveling westbound.

The collision caused severe, life-threatening injuries to the pedestrian, who was transported to UMC in critical condition by paramedics. The driver involved in the accident remained at the scene and cooperated fully with the ongoing investigation.

Initial assessments did not indicate any signs of impairment on the part of the driver. The investigation is currently active, and additional details will be provided as they become available. It is crucial for all drivers to maintain a high level of awareness for pedestrians and other vehicles while on the road.

This responsibility becomes especially critical in residential areas, at intersections, or within parking lots. Adhering to posted speed limits, which are established and enforced to reduce accidents and save lives, is equally important.
