LAS VEGAS, NV (October 25, 2023) - On Wednesday evening, a pedestrian died following an accident near North Boulder Highway.
According to the Henderson police and firefighters, it occurred around 7:30 p.m., October 18th, involving a 71-year-old pedestrian and a blue GMC pickup truck.
Furthermore, the investigation showed that the GMC was northbound on North Boulder Highway while the pedestrian was walking outside a marked crosswalk on the same roadway.
As a result, the pedestrian entered traffic lanes causing the GMC to collide with him and causing serious injuries. The paramedics rushed out to the scene and transported the pedestrian to Sunrise Trauma Hospital.
Unfortunately, the man was listed in critical condition, where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
Moreover, the driver remained at the scene and police said that he was cooperative. Also, the authorities do not suspect speed and impairment as a factor in the incident.
Meanwhile, the authorities blocked the northbound lanes of North Boulder Highway from Barrett Street to East Sunset Road for additional investigation.
At this time, the Clark County Coroner’s Office has yet to release the identity of the man, pending family notification.
An active investigation is currently ongoing. Any witnesses are urged to call the Henderson Police Department at 702-267-4911 or call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
