Metallica Double Up at SoFi: Alright, it’s not quite the six sold out nights that Taylor Swift managed. But still, two nights at the gargantuan SoFi Stadium for veteran thrashers Metallica is mighty impressive. They’re promising two different sets, so anyone who can afford both should go for it. There are two sets of opening acts too, with the reformed Pantera and Van Halen offspring Mammoth on the Friday, and Five Finger Death Punch and Ice Nine Kills on the Sunday. Lots to love.
Metallica's new album, 72 Seasons, was released back in April. Speaking on the concept of the album title, frontman James Hetfield said: “72 seasons. The first 18 years of our lives that form our true or false selves. The concept that we were told ‘who we are’ by our parents. A possible pigeonholing around what kind of personality we are. I think the most interesting part of this is the continued study of those core beliefs and how it affects our perception of the world today. Much of our adult experience is reenactment or reaction to these childhood experiences. Prisoners of childhood or breaking free of those bondages we carry.”
Metallica Double Up at SoFi: The event takes place at 6 p.m. on Friday, August 25 and Sunday, August 27 at the SoFi Stadium.
