24-Year-Old Rider Pronounced Dead after Big-Rig Collision near Sunset Crossing

DIAMOND BAR, CA (October 13, 2023) - Tuesday morning, a collision between a motorcycle and a semi-truck occurred on the 57 Freeway, resulting in the loss of Mingyuan Zhang's life.

At approximately 1:45 a.m., authorities rushed to the scene located on the southbound lanes of the freeway near Sunset Crossing.

The circumstances leading to the accident remain unclear. However, reports indicate that a motorcyclist and a semi-truck collided in the vicinity.

Paramedics later declared the motorcyclist deceased at the scene. The Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner officially identified the rider as 24-year-old Mingyuan Zhang.

In response, officials issued a SigAlert, temporarily closing all southbound lanes of the 57 Freeway while crews worked to clear the area.
