Oktoberfest at Brews Hall And Conversations with Chef Keith Corbin - Here’s What’s Popping Up

The Brews Hall is hosting an Oktoberfest feast featuring live music from Ladyhosen. L.A.’s ’ only all-female Oktoberfest band, on Friday, Oct.  20 and Saturday, Oct. 21   The beer hall is celebrating Oktoberfest all month long with festive bites including giant German soft pretzels, port brats, smoked turkey legs and chicken schnitzel alongside brews including Buzzrock Oktoberfest, Hofbrau Dunelweizen and more. The menu will be available until Sunday, Oct.  22 at both Brews Hall locations in Torrance and Hermosa Beach.

The WeHo Sausage Co. at Citizen Public Market in Culver City will celebrate Oktoberfest with Hofbrau, one of Munich's largest breweries, as well as games, prizes, beer and traditional Bavarian bites on Monday, Oct. 16. Free to join, must be 21 to participate. 

San Antonio Winery is hosting a Tour of France Wine & Food Pairing on Sunday, Oct.  15 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. For $85 per person famous wine regions of Bordeaux, Champagne and Burgundy will be featured with a paired four-course meal prepared by Chef Joe Dijamco & Chef Ray Vasquez.  Dishes include potatoes au gratin with sesame seed tuiles and avocado purée, herb-crusted sea bass in a lemon beurre blanc sauce, duck a l’orange crepes, beef wellington and vanilla orange creme brulee for dessert.

The third annual SHRIMPFEST23 takes place at the San Pedro Fish Market Long Beach on Friday, Oct. 20. In honor of National Seafood Month,  event will feature an all-you-can-eat seafood feast, hourly giveaways, live mariachi entertainment and access to unlimited tastes of more than 16 unique San Pedro Fish Market dishes including the World Famous Shrimp Tray, ahi tostada, Baja fish tacos, ceviche, clam chowder paired with a fountain beverage of choice. Tickets are $59.99 each and are available for sale here.

Following SHRIMPFEST23, the fishy fun continues all weekend long during San Pedro Fish Market’s FIESTA TRIFECTA WEEKEND. Stop by San Pedro Fish Market Grille in Wilmington on Saturday, Oct.  21 for the unveiling of  its newest menu item, the Hack Box - a location-exclusive, fully loaded lunchbox.  On Sunday, Oct.  22 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., check out the  San Pedro market for the Dia de los Muertos Festival and award-winning Micheladas.

On Sunday, Oct. 22,  Chef Keith Corbin, the two-time James Beard Award-nominated executive chef, co-owner of Alta Adams and author of California Soul: An American Epic of Cooking and Survival, will be speaking at Los Angeles Public Library’s Central Library as part of their LA Made series. The cultural series features free music, dance, theater, and conversations with local entertainers at libraries throughout Los Angeles.  Corbin will be joined by writer Jervey Tervalon for a conversation surrounding his bestselling memoir, an honest book about gangs, drugs, cooking, and living life on the line—both in the kitchen and on the streets.  The event is free and takes place in the library's Mark Taper Auditorium.
