One Pronounced Dead after Two-Vehicle Collision near 27th Avenue [Phoenix, AZ]

Passenger Killed and Driver Hospitalized after Tow Truck Collision near Camelback Road


PHOENIX, AZ (October 17, 2023) - On Wednesday evening, a two-vehicle collision near 27th Avenue and Camelback Road left one casualty.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, the collision involved a tow truck and a vehicle, at around 6:30 p.m., October 11th.
Furthermore, witnesses told the police that the vehicle left a driveway on Camelback Road when it was struck by a tow truck traveling westbound.
As a result, the vehicle sustained major damages, and the passenger suffered critical injuries. The driver fled the scene by foot but was later located by the authorities.
Consequently, both the driver and the passenger were transported to the hospital but the passenger succumbed to his injuries and passed away.
Meanwhile, the driver of the tow truck stayed at the scene and the authorities evaluated him. He showed no signs of impairment, per police report. He was also transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening wounds.
No additional information was added by the investigators, and the crash is under active investigation.
