68-Year-Old Man Hospitalized after Pedestrian Collision near Victor Street

BAKERSFIELD, CA (November 28, 2023) - Raymond Robinson was admitted to the hospital Saturday night after a pedestrian collision on Olive Drive and Victor Street. The incident occurred at approximately 6:12 p.m., after receiving multiple dispatch calls.

Reports indicate that a man, later identified as 68-year-old Raymond Robinson, was struck by the driver of a 2008 Honda while crossing the eastbound lanes of Olive Drive at a speed of 35 to 40 mph. The pedestrian, clad in dark clothing, was unable to avoid the approaching vehicle, resulting in significant injuries.

Emergency medical personnel promptly transported Robinson to Kern Medical for necessary treatment. The driver involved, 42-year-old April Nick, cooperated with authorities and remained at the scene throughout the investigation.
