19-Year-Old Motorcyclist Hospitalized after Multi-Vehicle Accident near Giles Street

LAS VEGAS, NV (October 12, 2023) - Wednesday afternoon, a serious accident occurred involving a dirt bike on East Windmill Lane.

Around 2:30 p.m. on October 4th, officers were called to the scene near Giles Street.

Reports indicate that a 19-year-old male rider on a 2017 KTM dirt bike was traveling east towards Giles Street at a high rate of speed, attempting a wheelie.

At the same time, a 37-year-old male driver in a 2016 Chevrolet truck was heading west and made a left turn onto southbound Giles Street, directly in the path of the dirt bike. This led to a collision between the two vehicles. The impact resulted in the dirt bike rider being thrown onto the road.

Paramedics arrived at the scene and transported the injured rider to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. Meanwhile, the Chevy driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. An ongoing investigation is being conducted to understand the full circumstances of the incident.
