In the annals of creepiness, this story takes the cake.
Authorities today said 61-year-old L.A. resident Robert Truxal agreed to a plea deal that will likely send him to jail for a year. What did he do?
He had lewd, sexual conversations over the internet with ...
... a 12-year-old girl.
Yeah. The L.A. City Attorney's office says that Truxal met the girl in a chat room and eventually even set up a website dedicated to their relationship.
Yeah.
The most appalling aspect of the case is that it was cracked after the girl's dad -- she lives in North Carolina -- caught her having a "a phone sex conversation involving Truxal," according to a City Attorney's statement.
Eek.
State troopers were called in and the case was eventually referred to L.A. prosecutors who say that "Truxal and the victim exchanged several explicit emails."
That's a crime.
The geezer perv pleaded no contest to child annoyance and sending harmful material to a minor. He's facing not only that year in jail, but also 60 months of probation, registration as a sex offender, and no contact with the victim, her family, or any other minors via the internet.
Formal sentencing was scheduled for Dec. 6.
