The film has been hailed by critics -- ours included-- for its dark complexity and cinematic beauty, meshing lush visuals with palpable film noir touches. A new 35mm version of the film --in striking black and white-- promises to heighten the Old Hollywood qualities del Toro intended. Nightmare Alley: Vision In Darkness And Light, will screen in limited engagement in L.A. the next few weeks and del Toro will be on hand for a series of Q&A's as well.
