Three-Vehicle Collision on Glasscock Avenue Left One Driver, Five Students Hospitalized

HARLINGEN, TX (October 26, 2023) - Tuesday afternoon, a multi-vehicle crash on North Ed Carey Drive left six people hospitalized.

The accident happened around 4 p.m. on October 3rd, near the intersection of Glasscock Avenue and Ed Carey Drive.

According to reports, a Ford Mustang in the middle lane changed lanes and crashed with a TDPS patrol unit, leading the police car to collide with an IDEA school bus that was stopped at a stop signal.

Additionally, both directions of the roadway were temporarily shut down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties but have since been reopened to the public.

Further investigations are still underway. The identity of all parties involved has not been released by police at this time. Anyone with further information is asked to contact local authorities.
