Six-Year-Old Boy Molested in Pico Rivera Park Bathroom as His Mother Stood Nearby

A parent's worst nightmare came true over the weekend after a mom walked her 6-year-old boy to the entrance of a park bathroom in Pico Rivera only to see him come out crying with a creep of a man following, authorities say.

On Tuesday the L.A. County Sheriff's Department unleashed an artist's sketch of the suspect along with the photo of the type of minivan witnesses say he used to get away as they watched in astonishment.

Deputies say it happened ...

... about 2:37 p.m. Saturday in Rio Hondo Park, which is at 8300 Beverly Road.

According to news reports, the mother walked her boy to the bathroom only to find him exiting in tears, with the suspect nearby. The man fled, got into a white van and peeled out so hard that the vehicle left tire tracks in park grass.

Authorities say the boy was molested in the bathroom.

The attacker was described in a sheriff's statement:

White in his 30's, 6'00"-6'02" tall/200 pounds, blonde hair/blue eyes, with a mustache and goatee, wearing a dark basketball jersey and dark basketball shorts.

Over the weekend deputies also said the man was wearing a Mexican flag-themed bandana. They said he had tattoos on his neck and on one arm.

The white minivan had a partial California plate number of 6J-----.
