Skold as Ice: Many might know Tim Skold best as a member of Marilyn Manson, or maybe KMFDM. But for us, he’ll always be the main guy in Shotgun Messiah. That Swedish glam metal band took an industrial left turn at album number three, and yet the quality didn’t dip at all. His transition was seamless, hence his later gigs. Hopefully Skold will play some Shotgun Messiah songs at the Whisky. Clockwork Echo, Grimm, Vanilla Sugar and Adam Zoom also perform.

Back in 2019, we asked Skold if he had any fond memories of L.A.

"Yes and yeah," he said. "We did a tribute show with Shotgun Messiah at the Troubadour in the early 90’s with a crazy girl climbing the light rig and a couple nights at the Wiltern with Marilyn Manson in 2004 I think that was special. I could go on and on, there are many other great shows I remember very well. Los Angeles is always a little extra stressful because it is home but I love it."

We also asked him how he thinks his sound has evolved.

"Not sure if it’s evolution or just the fact that the world is in a constant state of change but I’ve changed in just about every way possible," he said. "Even if I did everything exactly the same today as I did many years ago, everything is so different now that even the music would come out different."

Skold as Ice: The event takes place at 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 30 at the Whisky A Go-Go.
