Most people visit zoos because they are interested in learning about animals. Zoos provide an opportunity to see animals up close and learn about their habits, diet, and behavior. Many zoos also have educational programs that teach visitors about the importance of conservation.
Another reason to visit a zoo is to see rare and exotic animals that you might not otherwise have the chance to see. For example, the San Diego Zoo is home to giant pandas, which are native to China. Seeing these animals in person can be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Zoos are a great way to see rare and exotic animals up close.
In fact, the San Diego Zoo (along with the Los Angeles Zoo!) is on our list of 10 must-see zoos in the U.S. in 2022.
